Queen Cox
Queen Cox was first introduced in 1953 and is very closely related to Cox's Orange Pippin. Whilst maintaining all of the rich, intense flavour and juicy soft flesh, Queen Cox was created and introduced for its more uniform colour and appearance.
Richard Cox, a retired brewer, raised Cox's Orange Pippin in 1825, with the first commercial plantings being documented in the early 1860's. 150 years on, Cox is still the most important desert variety in the English apple industry.
